ISP related issues:

Problems that have been reported by users of specific ISP's are listed here, along with the date reported. They may help in cases where service providers have offered software or implemented proceedures that conflict with our proxy service.

NetZero:

Dec. 2005 - Patron could not get to the databases, even after succesfully logging in with his GUSPin. Netzero installs a "compression and caching software" that "increases dial-up internet speeds to DSL/cable rates". It also disables proxy access.... it's a proxy caching process itself. There may be a tray icon named Netzero Highspeed, that when disabled, makes database access work again. This might be a useful link: http://www.netzero.net/support/faq/ta05-disable.html Any internet "acceleration" software would be a likely candidate for causing problems such as this.
