Twenty-First Annual Faculty Author Reception (2003 - 2004)
The Leonard H. Axe Library will hold its 21st annual Faculty Author Reception on Thursday, November 4th, 2004, from 3:00 to 4:30 in the Library browsing area. The reception continues the Library's tradition of honoring University book authors and editors.
As a library, we wish to recognize works of PSU faculty published in paper or electronically. University members that have authored, co-authored, or edited books, as well as published creative works such as musical compositions, art exhibit catalogs, or audio recordings published since last year's Reception will be honored.
University authors of journal articles, book chapters, or conference proceedings are also honored with a display at the Reception.
The Girl He Left Behind: the Life and Times of Libbie Custer
Greensboro, NC: Avisson Press, © 2004
Elizabeth Bacon Custer was a beautiful and loyal Army wife to the legendary General George Armstrong Custer. As his wife, she endured the uncomfortable and sometimes dangerous life of garrisons and bivouacs, first during the Civil War and then in the West. As his widow, this witty and charming lady came into her own as a writer/historian and popular speaker. Her testimony is among the most eloquent and important we have from a woman's perspective of this bygone era.
