Author Biography
"Dr. James L. Castner is an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Biology at Pittsburg State University. He is an entomologist and tropical biologist who writes, photographs, edits, and publishes books. His advanced degrees are from the University of Florida where his academic background included entomology, botany, and Spanish. This academic foundation, combined with the experience of over 20 years of travel and research in Latin America and the Amazon Basin, have provided the expertise to teach and write on a variety of topics for diverse audiences including children, college students, and educators.
"Although Dr. Castner intends to continue writing, his first love is teaching and interacting with students and educators. He currently seeks a position at a small university where he might teach entomology, tropical biology, and a variety of other courses related to the life sciences, forensics, and photography. He firmly believes in field-oriented, hands-on courses where students can learn and enjoy themselves at the same time."
