Sixth Annual Silent Auction (2003)
The Axe Library's Sixth Annual Silent Auction was held on Thursday, March 6th, from 1 PM to 7:30 PM in the Library Browsing Area. A number of autographed books, works of art, and fine home furnishings were available for bid. Refreshments were provided and local performing artist duo Silent Partner was on hand to provide entertainment.
Proceeds from this Auction went toward furnishings for the new Special Collections Reading Room. A reception desk, 4 reading tables and 16 chairs have already been purchased. Two exhibit cases are currently under construction. Two book cases and a table-top display case have yet to be obtained.
The Auctions are open to the public and we invite anyone who would like to know more about the Library and what it has to offer to the community.
