Interlibrary Loan & Document Delivery
General Introduction
Interlibrary Loan is used as a way of expanding our Library's resources to a worldwide
level. If you are a PSU patron and you need something that is not owned by the Library,
you may be able to obtain it from another library by using this service. Books,
dissertations, theses, and photocopies of journal articles are examples of material
available on Interlibrary Loan.
The Leonard H. Axe Library Interlibrary Loan Department is located on the first floor of the library and is adjacent to the Reference and Periodicals departments.
Axe Library observes the provisions and restrictions of the Kansas Interlibrary Loan Best Practices guidelines and the National Interlibrary Loan Code (revised 2001) as approved by the American Library Association.
The Axe Library is a member of the Southeast Kansas Library System, one of seven Regional Library Systems in Kansas. We are also one of the many libraries in over 65 Southeast Kansas towns that service the area. Other services through the SEK System include a vast assortment of genealogical materials and services for the blind, elderly & physically handicapped.
The Interlibrary Loan department uses an online computer system called ILLiad to provide interlibrary loan and document delivery services to PSU patrons. ILLiad imports citations from WorldCat, and article citations from a number of our 120+ online databases.
Both Odyssey and Ariel software is used to send and receive journal articles over the internet. Our Odyssey address is: 206.107.43.64/ILL, and our Ariel address is: 198.248.210.79 (ver. 4.1.1.99)
