Soloist performing with the Southeast Kansas Symphony Orchestra

The Symphony's
Concerto & Aria Competition

The Southeast Kansas Symphony Orchestra has, for many years, provided an opportunity to advance student musicians from within Pittsburg State University's Department of Music into the role of soloist.

Historically, three or more students were selected to perform a vocal selection or movement of a concerto on each season's "Conterto & Aria" concert. In recent years, the experience as been expanded to allow three students the opportunity perform a work in its entirity on a program built around their vocal or instrumental selection.
