(KBA) - a voluntary
association comprising dedicated legal professionals from Kansas including
lawyers, judges, law students and legal assistants. Among interesting
features of the web site are a Lawyer Referral service for the general
public, public information pamphlets online and a KBA Career Center to help
legal professionals find a job.
- American Civil Liberties Union
(ACLU) - By
filing lawsuits or sponsoring protests the ACLU works to defend and preserve
the individual rights and liberties guaranteed in the Bill of Rights plus
amendments 13, 14, 15 and 19 of the Constitution of the United States. The ACLU also
works to protect the rites of traditionally disenfranchised groups such as
Native Americans and other people of color; lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and
