- ACE - ACE
is a database of song titles licensed by ASCAP
in the United States. For each title, you can find the names of the songwriters
and the names, contact persons, addresses and, in most cases, phone numbers
of publishers to contact if you want to use the work. For most of the titles,
you'll find some of the artists who have made a commercial recording.

- The Aria Database
is an actively growing collection of information about
opera and operatic arias. Besides providing basic information about each
aria, the Database includes translations for many arias and aria texts for
those that are not affected by copyright restrictions. The Database also
provides access to a collection of operatic MIDI files to give visitors an
idea of what each aria sounds like. Currently, the Database holds information
on the complete operatic aria collections of Mozart, Verdi, Berlioz, Wagner,
and Puccini as well as the partial collections of over 50 other composers.
- CAIRSS (The Institute for Music Research -
U. of TX. at San Antonio) is a bibliographic database
of music research literature in music education, music psychology, music
therapy, and music medicine. Citations for more than 16,000 music research articles
have been taken from 1,354 different journal titles; 18 of which are primary journals.
- The Canadian Music
Periodicals Index (CMPI) includes nearly 30 000 entries
on articles dating from the late-19th century to the present day. 500 Canadian
music journals, newsletters and magazines are represented here, almost 200
of which are currently active... The CMPI database focusses on articles and
news items touching various aspects of musical activity in Canada. In addition,
since 1999, significant articles on international music and musicians, published
in Canadian periodicals, have been added to the index.
- DRAM, the Database of Recorded American Music
has
a number of functions focused on the browsing, searching, organization,
presentation, and playback of audio content. These functions present select
audio content, artist roles and biographies, in-depth liner notes, and
bibliographies from the shared resources of New World Records and New York
University. Browse by album or track titles, composers, artists, dates.
- Music Education Resource Base including the Canadian Music Index
the MERB/CMI is a bibliographic database of more than 31,000 resources in music and music
education from 35 Canadian and International journals and other sources covering the period 1956
through the present. The journals are fully indexed by title, author, and subject.

a choral documentary search tool as well as a pedagogic tool for conductors,

Forum for Orchestra Professionals. ORCHESTRALIST
is an international forum for conductors, composers, players, and their
colleagues in the orchestra business... Discussion on Orchestralist ranges
over a variety of topics of interest to orchestra professionals. Those
encouraged to participate include: (1) conductors of professional, college
or community orchestras that perform standard repertory (including choral-orchestral
music and opera); (2) musicians who play in such orchestras; (3) composers
who write music for such orchestras. Also invited to participate are publishers,
administrators, board members, scholars, patrons, and artists-in-training.

whips out a little-known factoid that amazes and thrills. It's okay: you
can admit that you spent the next few minutes trying to think of some
equally enlightening/obscure piece of info so you could do battle with Mr.
(or Ms.) Trivia. - A very humorous and very informative site about composers,
compositions, time periods. It even lists "the Rules" of party trivia.
