INTRODUCTION
Recordings of a locally-produced, daily, thirty minute news and feature program
produced and aired by KRPS Radio, a National Public Radio affiliate station located
at Pittsburg State University, from 1988 to 1990. The recordings contain news
broadcasts, weather, business reports, and interviews pertaining to regional activities
and guests.
DONOR INFORMATION
These tapes were transferred to the Pittsburg State University Archives from KRPS Radio in 2004.
SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
The programs included on "Midlands Magazine" covered topics and activities in
the four state region of Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. Local history,
current events, historic sites, hobbies, local businesses, the environment,
politics, entertainment, and numerous other topics and activities were featured.
The recordings are arranged
in chronological order from 20 June 1988 to 14 February 1990. "Midlands Magazine"
aired Monday through Friday and tapes exist for nearly every date during this period.
The collection includes two copies of the recording for most dates.
