Special Services is comprised of several services that enhance or expand the Library's regular collections and services.
Computer search service
For a small fee the Computer Search Service can help you with your research needs. We can search any topic in a variety of databases to find references for your research topic.
The Service is primarily designed to help off campus students and faculty or others who do not have easy access to the Library databases.

Off Campus Services
Many of Axe Library resources and services have been designed to bring the Library to the user who takes classes in another community or who prefers to do research from their home.
The main requirement to using Library resources is to identify yourself as a PSU student, faculty or staff. For more information see the Off Campus help page.

Books:
A guide to searching the Axe Online Catalog can help you locate books, government documents, and other monographs, pamphlets and journals. (link to the guide to finding books document)
The Library has subscriptions to over 10,000 electronic books. The areas of business, education, history, and computers are fairly well represented. Electronic books can be searched as separate databases from the Book & Book Reviews subject category
Journal and newspaper articles:
A guide to finding journal or newspaper articles can help you find scholarly journals, magazines as well as newspapers. Begin by using our Online Databases to locate journal articles on your topic.
Journals:
The Library has a significant collection of online journals as well as print journals. Use "Serials Solutions" to locate our journal holdings in all formats.

Call Cynthia Pfannenstiel at 620-235-4888, or the Reference Desk at 620-235-4894 for help locating and searching the databases. If needed, search results and/or full text articles can be mailed or e-mailed to you.
Photocopy services:
Our Axe Copie$ service can provide copies for you.
