PageLest you think Q is all work and no play, think again!
Thanks to the kindness of Patricia Scott and family, and Margareta Nicholas and family,
every spare ounce of free time was filled with the sights and sounds of South Australia!

Susan's home away from home for the days during the conference. The courtyard looking out from the Holiday Inn Park Suites Hotel. Susan's other home away from home was guest housing at the Luther Seminary after the campus, an equally wonderful spot from which to headquarter in North Adelaide while the students were on their spring break!

A Sunday trip to Victor Harbor with Patricia and Andrew Scott. Pat brought delicious apricot coffee cake and proper tea for refreshment, and we sat and enjoyed the view with our tea. The seagulls agreed, it was great coffee cake, Pat! Thanks for sharing with us! (The gulls surely looked like they were ready for their own usergroup conference, similar to how Ameritech customers flock around big blue tote bags at registration!)

Two photos of the immediate vicinity of the Barr Smith Library, University of Adelaide, where Patricia and Steve live when they write all those neat messages on Dynix_l! At the top, the sunny courtyard immediately outside the library area.

Here, the main entrance to the Barr Smith Library, down a few stairs from the courtyard. My thanks to all the staff at Barr Smith Library for the wonderful discussions on Monday prior to the conference, and for the exquisite lunch under the grape vines! What a beautiful campus and terrific Dynix colleagues!

A sunny Tuesday before the conference, from the downtown starting place of the victory celebration for the Adelaide Crows' ticker tape parade! Go Crows!

Visting the Botanical Gardens. Enjoying the international courtesy of "I'll take your photo if you take mine", with many thanks to the couple who took my photo after I took theirs.

Pat Scott and Susan do the Cleland Wildlife Preserve. On the left, this surely must be a relative of Skippy, I think! We told him he'd have his picture on the net and he consented by exerting himself for our food! On the right, a mom 'roo and Joey let us photograph them before Joey dived for cover!

Another elder 'Roo who posed faithfully since he told us he'd waited all his life to be on the internet from some gal's web page in Kansas!

Pat Scott feeding a Black Swan at Cleland Wildlife Preserve.

After Cleland, lunch, and a bit of controlled antique shopping, Pat and Susan headed out to Hahndorf, where Susan got a kick out of the street sign above the public toilets sign!

Another weekend trek, the Sunday after the conference, to Mt. Lofty, overlooking Adelaide and the Southern Ocean (Gulf St. Vincent area) in the distance. Thanks to Margareta and Adrian Nicholas for a fine shot and a lovely time! (and to Hal Cain for helping the directionally-and-geographically-ocean-challenged Q!)

Susan feeding another 'roo who wanted to be on the internet!

Susan still feeding yet another 'roo. Sorry, this is just such a hoot for a land-locked American, we had to take LOTS of pictures!

Thanks to Richard Samford, PSU Axe ILL Dept., for his assistance in scanning and jpg conversion.
