The Cataloger/Technical Services Librarian is responsible for the cataloging and physical processing of library materials and supervises the Cataloging Library Assistant. This position is responsible for maintaining standardized bibliographic entries (AACR2) in the online catalog (Dynix) and for performance standards of OCLC input, product output and processing quality, including authority control (LC) for subjects, authors and series. PSU hosts a locally shared database that includes a public library, a school district and a community college. This person serves as institutional contact for BCR, OCLC, and other vendors, and is responsible for the continuing education of library and consortia staff for cataloging and technical processing functions and for quality control of bibliographic records in the online catalog. This person is responsible for mending in the general library collection and has some night and weekend reference duties on a rotating schedule.

An ALA accredited master's degree in Library Science and a minimum of two years work experience in cataloging, including demonstrated experience using OCLC or a similar bibliographic utility. Preferred qualifications include a second master's degree, work experience with an online library system, and experience with a library consortium.

Permanent full-time faculty position, tenure-earning, with a twelve month appointment. Salary from a base of $40,000.
