Donating Books to the Axe Library

Dear Library User,

Thanks for your interest in donating books to the Axe Library collection. We accept gifts donated from faculty and from community members when those books meet the educational needs of the Pittsburg State University community. Donated books are often added to the collection, but when books are found to be unusable, they may be put on the Library book sale or recycled.

Axe Library staff cannot legally assign a value to your gift, but because you may want to deduct this gift for tax purposes it would be a good idea to have a list made of the titles you are donating. For example, you will want a list that includes titles, authors, and dates of publication.

Example:

Analyzing Success and Failure in Banking Consolidation : The Implications for Bank Acquisition Strategies, c1990.

Art Education: Strategies of Teaching by Mark Luca and Robert Kent, c1968.

Asset / Liability Management by James V. Baker, c1981.

Bank Costs for Planning and Control, c1972.

The Best Gardening Ideas for the '80s by the Editors of Organic Gardening, c1980.

Children's Literature: Strategies of Teaching by Robert Whitehead, c1968.

When the Library receives your donated books, we will provide you with a count of titles donated and send you a letter as a confirmation of receipt.

Thanks once more for your support of the Axe Library.
